Claremont House is a purpose built home registered to provide respite care; short stay and long stay care for people with dementia. The home runs 24 hours per day, so flexibility is important. You will work shifts including weekends and bank holidays.
You will be responsible for creating a programme of stimulating activities in our care home. You will organise a variety of activities such as reminiscence days, themed days, outings, arts & crafts as well as practical activities such as baking, gardening and booking entertainment. You will build community links and organise parties and seasonal events throughout the year for residents, families and friends (Covid permitting).
You will be instrumental in helping staff develop relationships with the wider community and support a bank of volunteers who will help you deliver your activities, e.g. local Scout/Guide groups and dance schools. You will need a creative approach to raising funds for outings and special events.
You will be instrumental in helping staff promote positive mental and physical wellbeing in order to comply with CQC essential standards and improve quality of residents’ lives.
The job is mentally and emotionally challenging but extremely rewarding; you will be expected to be self-motivated and will have line management support from the Residential Manager.
