East Lancashire Women and Newborn Centre with an in-patient Obstetric Unit is also located at Burnley, with a midwife led birthing unit. The Trust has close links with a number of Tertiary Centres in Lancashire, Manchester and Liverpool.
East Lancashire is well served by an extensive motorway network and is within easy reach of the major conurbations of Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds. The Ribble Valley is an area of outstanding beauty and is only a stone’s throw away from the Forest of Bowland, Yorkshire Dales, and Pennines. North Wales and the Lake District are also within easy reach. There is an abundance of good local schools and quality housing at reasonable prices.
The appointment is on a whole-time basis but applications are welcome from those who wish to job share.
Any person who is unable for personal reasons to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post. If such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis, in consultation with consultant colleagues.
