Coster is a long-established name in the Aerosol and Luxury packaging industry with a proud legacy and reputation for manufacturing excellence and quality.Coster has been built on a platform of industrial and technical excellence and with high levels of automation and data exchange in its manufacturing technologies.We are seeking to hire a Quality Senior Operator to complement our expanding global business in the FMCG sector based at our Barlborough site. If you are enthusiastic, focussed and ambitious with the desire to develop in a thriving business then this could be the role for you.Key Role Objectives & Responsibilities: Manage on-shift measurement activities on the OGP measurement machine in accordance to the defined schedule.Have the ability to be able to assess and review OGP measurement data, where required escalating out of specification measurements, trends to Shift Leader, Moulder and Quality department.Undertake visual/functional quality checks in Moulding & Assembly areas.Manage Internal Product non-conformances with production team & Shift Leader, including documentation, root cause analysis and countermeasures.Mange non-conforming stock, ensuring any stock is labelled and moved to the quarantine area.Manager Supplier non-conformances with production team & Shift Leader, including documentation and decision making for use of stock.Manage the “Moulding” rework area to ensure any reworked pallets are put back through the cells in the correct manner. Ensure traceability is maintained by completing the documentation.Sign off change-overs ensuing the first box is produced to the correct standard.Ensure First off & Last off samples are retained.Collect shift moulded samples and save in quality lab.Ensure all Quality & Challenge checks are being completed and signed off at the end of the shift/weekSupport the quality department with Moulding & Assembly specific quality requirements upon requestSupport the operational team in the day to day operational activities on the assembly cells.Provide End of Line operational support in palletisation and labelling areasWhere required, support Moulding & Assembly in the running of the machines at basic level (once appropriately trained)Support operational team on loss area’s, including observation, investigation, root cause analysis where required within the Moulding & Assembly area.Cover breaks within Moulding & Assembly CellAssist operational team in daily/weekly maintenance/cleaning activities.Assist with 6S activities as specified by Shift Leader.Key Skills and ExperienceEHS AwarenessProduct awareness and identificationOperating automated and semi-automated production lines.Mechanical/ Electrical experience advantageous.Committed team player willing to support and help colleaguesWorking in a busy production environment.Analytical and computer skills and knowledge of Excel & WordAbility to read diagrams, technical drawings and manualsAbility to fault find to component levelAbility to understand production planning to ensure production flowExperience of “5 why’s”Detailed understanding of moulding and associated operational issues.Understanding or Moulding and Assembly of actuatorsAbility to use OGP machineAbility to be able to “Stock audit and understand Acceptable quality levels (AQL’s)Be able to adapt to quick processesAbility to work under pressureHours and Benefits: -£12.66 per hour (including 15% shift allowance)Bonus scheme12 hour continental shifts ( 4 on 4 off)23 days holidayFull time/permanent positionCompany pension schemeApplication Deadline: 26/04/2021Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: £12.66 per hourBenefits:Company pensionOn-site parkingSchedule:12 hour shiftDay shiftNight shiftWeekendsEducation:GCSE or equivalent (preferred)Experience:manufacturing environment: 1 year (preferred)Plastics injection molding: 1 year (required)optical measurement machine: 1 year (required)Shift availability:Day shift (required)Night shift (required)Overnight shift (required)Work remotely:NoCOVID-19 precaution(s):Personal protective equipment provided or requiredTemperature screeningsSocial distancing guidelines in placeSanitisation, disinfection or cleaning procedures in place
