Job Description
Are you looking for the opportunity to bring your extensive Product Designer experience to a world-class company that is market-leading for both content and technology? We are looking for a skilled Product Designer with experience to work across the agency (B2B) and consumer teams at Reuters. We are looking for an individual who is confident in being hands-on with designs and taking ownership over the creation and development of features end-to-end. We are seeking someone who brings innovative ideas to the table whilst working within the constraints of an established brand and design system. Reuters.com has recently undergone a full redesign which is currently in a beta phase rolled out to a sub-set of customers. The new site houses the unbiased Reuters news content as well as news from other areas of the Thomson Reuters business. The single source of truth for the redesign process sits within the newly developed design system which you would be influential in continuing to build out as the product grows beyond launch. Reuters Connect is the most comprehensive digital platform powering the news eco-system. Hosting more than 26 million items from Reuters and a network of 70+ partners, it is the primary touchpoint for media organizations to ingest content to push out to their respective audiences. Connect aims to provide a cohesive experience so that customers can find all the content available to them in an easy to access and seamless manner to support their fast-paced workflows. Since its conception 4 years ago, it has won some of the most prestigious awards including Digi Day in 2018. The platform is evolving every year and there are some exciting features scheduled to be rolled out in 2021. About the Role As a Product Designer at Reuters you will: Collaborate with wider product management team to frame user problems, use cases, technical requirements, and critical metrics. Create thoughtful flows, rough designs, high-fidelity designs, and other solutions in Sketch (or similar), within our visual design language. Collaborate closely with the engineering team to build designs accurately and refine as needed. Build a collaborative design process with the wider organization to ensure you are always working towards strategic goals, KPIs, and feature requirements. Communicate effectively your ideas and rationale – verbal, written and visuals – through clear documentation Ensure experiences consider a wide spectrum of users, giving attention to accessibility Quickly iterate on your designs based on feedback from peers and learnings found in user research. To be our Product Designer you will likely: Have experience in a digital product environment Be comfortable taking ownership of features end-to-end, from discovery to development hand-off Have a product-mindset. Be able to see the big picture, balancing user needs with business objectives Be conceptual and analytical problem-solving skills Have a logical approach to projects – ability to see through the noise and consolidate feedback into a sound and innovative solution that complements existing product set up Have the ability to gather and distill requirements into beautiful front-end solutions Have experience working with and evolving design systems following atomic design principals Be confident in building out user journeys with sound knowledge of information architecture Have experience working in an agile environment Be an advocate for the customer It would be ideal (but not essential) if you also: Have previous media/news experience Have experience working on Product Dashboards and profile management Have E-Commerce experience Please note, the deadline for applications is Sunday 18th April 2021 at 11.59pm GMT What’s in it For You At Reuters, our people are our greatest assets.
