Litigated Credit Hire File Handler

Have you got experience of Credit Hire? Are you looking for a new role in a litigated defendant team? If so, then Keoghs Credit Hire team are looking for a File Handler who will pursue settlement of Litigated Credit Hire files. The successful candidate will handle small and fast track matters.

Key Accountabilities

Create initial case strategy following Client Guidelines and review of information availableUndertake discussions and negotiations with Insured, Insurer and Third Party Solicitors to pursue the rapid and appropriate settlement of cases and the apportionment of costsUndertake Court Telephone Hearings to ensure progress is maximised and all actions have been undertaken to bring the case to settlementTimely and accurate maintenance of all case management, billing and management information systems to ensure completeness of records and aid business decision makingAllocate funds to the appropriate client accounts as per agreed procedures to ensure the client and Keoghs receive appropriate paymentsDealing with correspondence and telephone callsUndertaking periodic reviews of files in line with Client requirementsUpdating reportsMeeting agreed performance targetsEnsuring files are kept within ISO 9001 guidelinesProvide written updates by email or letter to clients detailing case activity to ensure that they receive up to date and accurate information about progress when requestedTo ensure compliance with the SRA Code of Conduct 2011Adhere to the Keoghs Values
Experience, Skills and Qualifications

Essential

Some Credit Hire experience or knowledgeExperience of small claims and fast track mattersPrevious experience of handling own caseloadGood standard of education – 3 GCSE’s grade C or above or equivalent including Maths, English & Science as a minimum.Good telephone negotiation skillsHave an understanding of case law and litigation practice & process and CPOAbility to use own initiativeAbility to plan and prioritise workloadsExcellent listening and verbal communication skillsAbility to make decisionsAbility to remain calm under pressureAbility to follow work processes and keep to Strategy yet flexible enough to adapt to changeProficient IT skillsAdhere to the Keoghs Values
Desirable

Knowledge / experience of the litigation processSome knowledge of Road Traffic Accidents (RTAs)Experience of Indemnity Principles and CCFAs
