Claims Advisor
Sitting within our credit hire department, the Claims Advisor position is both a telephone and administrative type role. You would monitor hire period keeping costs a minimum, liaise with claimant solicitors, policyholders and insurer clients to establish liability and obtain all necessary documents. Be a support system to the file handlers, as well as caseload management of your own cases from start of hire up to negotiation and settlement, at which point the file would get handed to the file handler.
The team is set up to deal with claims submitted on the MOJ portal, inclusive of injury claims and other claims such as hire, vehicle damage, recovery and storage etc.
Key Accountabilities
Contacting organisations by telephone to ensure matters are progressing correctlyQuestioning repair and hire periods as appropriate with a view to reducing overall hire daysDealing with queries from other partiesManaging a diary to effectively deal with all matters in a timely fashionUpdate Tracker by diarising records, court dates, directions, applications and orders as well as general activity, ensuring accurate recording of activity to allow progress trackingLiaising with Courts, Counsel, Opponents, Experts, Witnesses, Insureds and brokers to progress the case. Examples of tasks include requesting and providing updates; requests for extensions to comply with directions; booking Counsel for hearings and conferences; and appointments with experts.Follow up on outstanding instructions, documents and other actions to ensure that responses are received within required timescales.Chase clients to ensure payments are received and dispatched within required deadlinesDiarising and updating CRUTo ensure compliance with the SRA Code of Conduct 2019Adhere to the Keoghs Values
Working Hours:
This is a full time, permanent position, 35 hours per week worked 9am and 5pm Mondays to Fridays
Experience, Skills and Qualifications
Education - at least 3 GCSEs or equivalent are essentialAbility to use own initiativeAbility to prioritise workloadsExcellent listening and verbal communication skillsGood telephone negotiation skills and manner is essentialAbility to follow work processes and proceduresAbility to remain calm under pressureCompetent IT skills including Microsoft Office
