Are you interested in working in working in a clinical environment and supporting research at Cambridge Biomedical Campus? An unusual and exciting opportunity has arisen for working in the clinical laboratory supporting research under the supervision of Laboratory Research Services.
The post is funded for 1 year at 4 hours a day, i.e. 20 hours a week – ideally 09:30 am to 13:30 or 14:00 hours with half hour lunch. The post holder will be responsible for being the key member of staff to help with blood sample handling such as receiving, processing and storing and issuing samples to relevant research teams when needed. High level of organisational, communication and planning skills are essential. Previous research experience in managing sample storage is highly desirable for this post.
To lead and coordinate the sample related aspects of study set-up, process SOPs, processing, storage and shipment of blood and other biological samples research for studies ensuring that protocol requirements are followed.
Liaise with couriers, external agencies, and research teams alongside LRS and laboratory senior staff regarding all aspects of sample collection, storage and shipment for trials.
Under the direction of the LRS Lead, supervise or contribute to the following: 1) Oversight of the sample handling and all equipment therein. 2) Oversight of all SOPs relating to the processing, collection and storage of samples, 3) Management of sample kits and sample storage facilities and maintenance of logs. 4) Management of sample information systems
