Do you have experience of working with Looked After Children and are committed to getting the best outcomes for them? If you answer yes to these questions, then Wakefield Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is the place for you! We are looking for experienced and confident clinical psychologists who are able to work within a busy integrated multidisciplinary team, Emotional Wellbeing Team supporting Looked After Children and supporting our community partners as part of our locality model. You must have significant and demonstrable experience of working with young people and their families, who can often present with a range of complex mental health needs. You will manage your own caseload, providing a range of high quality care appropriate to the young person’s needs which will include risk assessment and management, consultation and evidence based interventions. You must have a comprehensive range of skills and knowledge to deliver clinical aspects of the role in order to be able to provide a range of appropriate clinical interventions and specialist assessment and be competent to do this work as an autonomous practitioner within professional practice guidelines and a structured supervision framework. Within the role you will contribute to and support the collection of service outcome data across the service and support the development of participation work within the service. You will need to develop good working relationships with key professionals across the district; therefore excellent communication and engagement skills are essential. A commitment to improving service delivery and developing new ways of supporting early intervention is crucial to work within the wider CAMHS team. As a member of the team you will contribute to the wider aims of the service through joint working, training and supervision to other professionals and be part of the 24/7 on call out of hours service. In return we will provide a comprehensive induction programme, regular clinical and management supervision and you will be appraised on a yearly basis with a view to developing knowledge and skills where appropriate. As this post will work across the Wakefield District you will be required to demonstrate a flexible approach to travel as you may see young people in different community settings as well as the CAMHS bases in the area.
