Head of Learning and Teaching£41,526 to £49,553 per annumFull time, 37 hours per week*Applications must be made on www.winchester.ac.uk/about-us/work-with-us/ *We are seeking to recruit a Head of Learning and Teaching to lead our Learning and Teaching Development team situated in the department of Academic Quality and Development (AQD). Academic Quality and Development comprises Learning and Teaching Development, Technology Enhanced Learning and Quality Assurance and plays a central role in supporting curriculum development, the quality assurance and enhancement of the university’s programmes of study and the ongoing professional development of teaching staff.Reporting to the Director of Academic Quality and Development, the role holder’s responsibilities will include programme leadership of the MA in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education. They will also be responsible for the University’s Advance HE accreditation of this taught provision (PGCert: D2), the Inspiring Expertise in Teaching scheme (provision based on continuing professional development: D1-D3) and provide co-ordination for direct applicants to Advance HE for D4.They will nurture academic innovation and good practice in learning and teaching across the University and will also be responsible for identifying educational development and CPD needs and designing institutional level responses. The post holder will manage the staff in the Learning and Teaching Development team who are responsible for a raft of learning and teaching initiatives and projects and who support the enhancement of learning and teaching across the university.The successful candidate will have experience of leading an MA in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education and of Advance HE accreditation. They will have significant experience of and will be able to evidence excellence in teaching and learning in higher education. They will have an interest in and experience of research-informed teaching, pedagogic research and writing for publication. Importantly, the successful applicant will understand the relationship between quality assurance and excellent teaching and learning and have a sound grasp of the enhancement agenda.The University particularly welcomes applications from Black, Asian and minority ethnic for this post as they are under-represented in jobs at this level.
